Sabinsa Corporation will sponsor a VendorWorks session entitled "Synergy Between Cosmeceuticals and Dietary Supplements" on Tuesday, November 6 from 4 4:50 p.m. in the Lido room #3001-3002 at the SupplySide West tradeshow being held November 6 - 8 at the Venetian & Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nev. The session, which will be lead by Lakshmi Prakash, Ph.D., vice president of innovation and business development with Sabinsa, will cover the latest trends in cosmeceuticals including innovative and novel ingredients and how those ingredients can be used in a variety of applications.

Dr. Lakshmi Prakash received a BSc (Honors) degree in Chemistry, and BSc(Tech) and MSc(Tech) degrees in Food Technology from the University of Mumbai, India. Her Ph.D. is in Food Science from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Dr. Prakash has more than 25 years of research and management experience in the natural products industry and academia, and is also a registered Patent Agent. She has authored or co-authored more than 50 articles in scientific and trade journals related to foods, personal care and cosmetics, and is a co-inventor for nine granted patents and more than 20 patent applications. Prior to joining Sabinsa, Dr. Prakash worked as head of the Department of Food Technology at SNDT University, Mumbai, and as a Project Manager at the Center for Advanced Food Technology at Rutgers University, where she was actively involved in facilitating research collaborations between corporations and academia. At Sabinsa, Dr. Prakash's responsibilities include identifying and developing innovative health applications, delivery systems and intellectual property pertaining to natural actives and nutritional raw materials.
