Sabinsa Corporation today announced that it has secured U.S. Patent No. 7,253,324, protecting the process for the synthesis of biologically active polyphenolic compounds by novel dealkylation. This process of aromatic poly o-demethylation is applicable in the manufacturing of polyphenols such as resveratrol, oxyresveratrol and gnetol.
