Sami-Sabinsa’s founder, the late Dr. Muhammed Majeed, was honored with the Times Business Awards Lifetime Achievement Award (Posthumous) for his “exemplary contributions to Nutraceuticals and Cosmeceuticals, and Philanthropy” in a ceremony in Bengaluru, India on June 21, 2024. Dr. Anju Majeed, Sami-Sabinsa Group Executive Chairperson, and Mr. Shaheen Majeed, Global Managing Director & CEO of Sami-Sabinsa Group, received the award honoring their father.

In announcing the award, the presenter, the esteemed Indian actor and director Anupam Kher said “Sami-Sabinsa Group, a global leader in natural nutraceutical and cosmeceutical ingredients, was established in 1988 in the USA and its manufacturing arm started in 1991 in India. The company was founded by the late Dr. Muhammed Majeed, whose love of natural products led to ground-breaking innovations in health and wellness. The company’s dedicated workforce of over 1,400 people has been instrumental in fostering the organization’s growth. The Dr. Majeed Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the company, has created a positive impact on society by supporting numerous initiatives in education and healthcare. Dr. Majeed’s unwavering commitment to the industry has led to the establishment of an untold number of nutraceutical companies in India.”
