The Sami-Sabinsa Group’s Hassan Unit 1 facility, M/s. Sami Nutraceuticals Private, has been assessed, and compliance with the NSF GMP Registration Program Requirements of NSF/ANSI 173, Section 8 (which includes FSMA and cGMPs (21 CFR Part 111, 21 CFR Part 117)) has been confirmed, with the certificate issued by NSF on June 19, 2024.

“While this is the youngest factory, it by no means lacks the safety, quality and rigor required to produce the finest ingredients we have to offer, to add now the confirmation of regulatory compliance our customers expect from us,” said Shaheen Majeed, Sami-Sabinsa Global Managing Director and CEO. “We appreciate their professionalism and hard work that this certification from NSF confirms.”

This new state-of-the-art greenfield manufacturing facility was inaugurated 17 March 2023 by the late Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Chairman and Founder, Sami-Sabinsa Group. This unit, which sprawls over an area of 10 acres, is the company’s eighth manufacturing facility, and has capacity to produce 88 tons of Active Nutraceutical Ingredients (ANI) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) per annum. It produces 23 different Active Nutraceutical Ingredients (ANI) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) & intermediates, including Calebin-A, Resveratrol, SabiWhite®, Pterostilbene, Cosmoperine®, 1, 2- Hexanediol, 1,2-Octanediol, Diindolylmethane (DIM), lndole-3-Carbinol, and Ferulic Acid, etc. This world-class manufacturing facility is equipped with 18 reactors (including 8 glass-line reactors), two hydrogenators, and other specialized equipment such as agitated nutsche filter dryers (ANFD), centrifuges, and Rotocone Vacuum Dryers. An important feature of this new facility is its Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) capability, which minimizes the production-associated ecological footprint.

The Hassan facility has a clear location advantage and easy access to ports on the east and west coasts of India. The neighboring Hassan Unit 2 facility is currently under construction.
