East Windsor, N.J - Sabinsa Corporation's R&D group has developed two new patent pending ingredient compositions with proven preservative efficacy: SabiLize^®- Alpha and SabiLize^®- Beta.

These proprietary blends of natural antimicrobial actives will help meet the all-too-common challenge of finding an effective natural preservative for use in cosmetics and personal care products.

Both SabiLize^®- Alpha and SabiLize^®- Beta at 0.5% in cream were found to be significantly effective against gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, as well as Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. In laymen’s terms, these natural ingredients effectively keep commonly problematic bacteria from growing. Additionally, the active ingredients function as antioxidants and prevent the oxidation of oils and fats in cosmetic and personal care formulations.
