Lakshmi Prakash, Ph.D., vice president of innovation and business development with Sabinsa Corporation will be discussing the company's new weight management composition, LeanGard®, on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. as part of the Slimming Ingredients Conference being held in Berlin, Germany. LeanGard is a combination of three of Sabinsa's patented, clinically researched ingredients, ForsLean®, GarCitrin® and Bioperine®, and can help promote lean body mass, suppress the appetite and enhance thermogenic activity.
"With nearly two thirds of the world's population overweight, the need for effective products with extensive scientific validation is more important than ever," noted Dr. Prakash. "The unique aspect of this conference is that it brings together companies that have a shared philosophy about the value of research and who are looking to push the industry away from simply focusing on the next hot ingredient."
LeanGard consists of a proprietary ratio of ForsLean, Garcitrin and Bioperine. ForsLean is an extract derived from Coleus forskohlii roots, and the only known plant source of forskolin, a natural compound that has been shown to increase lean body mass and help optimize body composition through cAMP activation. Garcitrin is a composition of calcium salt hydroxycitric acid (HCA) with garcinol, a polyisoprenylated benzophenone isolated from Garcinia cambogia and Garcinia indica fruits, which reduces fatty acid and lipid synthesis and improves lean body mass. Bioperine is a standardized piperine composition derived from black pepper extract that has been shown to increase the absorption of nutrients in nutritional supplement formulations.
The Slimming Ingredients Conference is a professional exhibition dedicated to covering the latest innovations and trends in weight loss and weight management. The exhibition is open only to companies that provide clinical trials for their ingredients and/or products.
