Sami-Sabinsa Group Limited, a pioneer and global leader in health sciences hosted a ground-breaking ceremony on July 3rd, 2020 to commence work on the third phase of its nutraceutical manufacturing unit coming up at Hassan, Karnataka. The third phase covering 645,000 square feet of this world-class Active Nutraceutical Ingredient (ANI) manufacturing unit will have a production capacity of 900 tons per annum. The high quality, environmentally conscious, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) facility will combine user comfort, energy efficiency, responsible water management, and biodiversity development. The facility, which will be 100% cGMP and compliant with regulatory requirements is scheduled for commissioning by 2021 and is expected to generate employment for approximately 400 people in and around Hassan. The construction work for the first and second phase of the ANI facility, for which the ground breaking ceremony was conducted in January 2020 is progressing rapidly. The total planned investment for the Hassan facility is Rs 200 Crore.
This is Sami-Sabinsa Group’s 8th global manufacturing facility, in addition to its units located in Karnataka, Hyderabad and USA. The ground-breaking ceremony was hosted by Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Founder and Chairman, Sami-Sabinsa Group Ltd, Mr. Shaheen Majeed, President Worldwide, Sabinsa and Director, Sami Labs Ltd, Dr. Anju Majeed, Director and Sr. Scientist, Sami Labs Ltd and members of the Sami-Sabinsa Group management and staff. The ANI facility is part of Sami-Sabinsa Group’s strategy to expand existing ingredient growth and focus on new innovative products. The new plant will significantly expand the Group’s overall manufacturing capacity, and also strengthen our presence as India’s premier and largest global nutraceutical company. This is a testament to the Sami-Sabinsa team’s commitment to developing products that make lives healthier and better.
